Wenzel designs and builds HI-REL oscillators and systems for Space. Based on MIL-PRF-55310, which defines the requirements for crystal controlled oscillators, Wenzel has shipped space-flight hardware for the Lunar and Mars missions, to visit near-earth asteroids and for tactical military missions. Our frequency sources for space include weather and landing radars, imaging detectors, commercial communications, and surveillance. Wenzel’s Croven Crystal division has participated in countless special projects for military and space customers and has complete in-house testing and manufacturing capabilities to produce and test MIL-PRF-3098 Space grade crystals. Recent missions include frequency sources for ORBCOMM Generation 2 (OG2) satellites, SMAP and IceSat-2, ATLAS. Wenzel’s X-band synthesizer is part of the landing radar that successfully landed the rover Curiosity, part of NASA's Mars Science Laboratory.
